Seven States Enact DDH Compact 
DDH Compact is now active – Next Step: Compact Commission! 

On Monday, April 22nd, 2024 Governor Janet Mills signed LD 2137, making Maine the seventh state to join the Dentist and Dental Hygienist (DDH) Compact. This officially activates the DDH Compact, allowing the first seven states to appoint their commissioners and begin the next phase in the process of increasing licensure portability around the country.

The seven states are Iowa, Washington, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Maine. 

Please view the press release announcement on behalf of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA), and the Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO).

The Coalition's Executive Committee seeks a Member At-Large. The term is one year and self nominations are acceptable. Nominate by April 30, 2024.

June 2023 Update: The Coalition consolidates membership categories
The Coalition has consolidated its Member and Supporter membership categories into one membership category. All members and supporters are now considered “Partners” of the Coalition.

The September 2022 webinar highlights the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Licensure Compact currently under development and provides updates on the changing environment for initial licensure.
